Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, September 29, 2026 – Clara Chang, President of Hisense ASEAN, attended the 17th FutureChina Global Forum in Singapore, sharing how Hisense is responding to evolving consumer needs through technology innovation and supporting healthier living.
Consumer expectations for home appliances are expanding from individual functions to the overall quality of everyday life. This shift is placing greater emphasis on core technologies and the ability to address needs across different home settings. Guided by its focus on technology, health and art, Hisense is translating its technical expertise into tangible consumer benefits through products including RGB MiniLED TVs and refrigerators featuring advanced UV ice and water treatment and All Zone Purify Plus.
Advancing Display Technology to Enhance Home Entertainment
Hisense RGB MiniLED brings years of investment in core technologies into the home. Breakthroughs in key chips, supported by integrated capabilities in display technology, algorithms and manufacturing, have helped bring RGB MiniLED into commercial production, creating new possibilities for premium home entertainment.
Using independently controlled red, green and blue backlighting, together with coordinated colour and brightness control, RGB MiniLED delivers rich colour gradations and subtle detail in light and shadow. From films to sports, its natural, lifelike images bring content to life and create a more immersive viewing experience.
Extending Health-Focused Innovation Across Food and Drink
Health considerations are becoming increasingly important throughout the home. In the kitchen, expectations for refrigerators now extend beyond food storage to include a clean storage environment, hygienic ice and water, and convenient everyday access. Hisense’s Advanced UV Ice & Water Treatment Technology applies UV sterilisation to the ice and water system, adding hygienic protection to daily use. Options including chilled water, crushed ice and crescent ice accommodate different preferences, bringing convenience and health-focused design together.
A clean food storage environment is equally important. All Zone Purify Plus extends purification across both refrigerator and freezer compartments. With Hi-NANO providing 24-hour active purification and Fresh+ offering long-lasting protection, dedicated purification modules address the storage needs of fresh produce, frozen food and ice.
From food storage to ice and water consumption, these two technologies expand the refrigerator’s role in supporting healthier living. Hisense also extends this approach to indoor air and laundry care, with Hi-NANO air conditioning technology supporting healthier indoor air and Healthy Water washing technology enhancing everyday fabric care.
Creating Lasting Value Through Local Understanding
Core technology provides the foundation for innovation, while an understanding of consumers’ lives gives it direction. Across ASEAN, Hisense continues to advance its “Local for Local” approach, incorporating local climates, lifestyles and household needs into product development, supported by local manufacturing, sales and service capabilities.
At the forum, Ms. Chang shared three layers of experience from Hisense’s 30-year overseas journey. Hisense entered the South African market in 1996 and today operates 32 R&D centres, 41 industrial parks and manufacturing bases, and 65 overseas companies and offices, forming a “7+1” regional network with integrated R&D, manufacturing and sales. Since 2018, Hisense has also brought over 40 supply-chain partners overseas.
Building on 20 years of own-brand development, Hisense continues to follow its “Local for Local” approach, establishing regional headquarters, factories and local teams across ASEAN. Its Thailand HHA Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park, which broke ground in September 2025, is the company’s largest overseas industrial park.
Looking ahead, ASEAN serves as a testing ground for Hisense’s brand globalisation, with major projects such as Indonesian government commercial displays and Kelin Electric successfully landing in the region. These projects mark B2B as Hisense’s second growth curve and support Hisense’s evolution from a home appliance brand to a technology group.
Hisense will continue to uphold its “user-centric” philosophy, with confidence, determination, original aspiration, and craftsmanship to deepen its roots in ASEAN.
